BIAA Doughty-Wylie Scholarship

Summary

Two grants of up to £1,000 each are available to support postgraduate students in any field of the arts, humanities and social sciences to participate in fieldwork or other research activity in Turkey. In addition to the grant, the BIAA will offer successful applicants free accommodation at the BIAA hostel in Ankara.

Eligibility

Applicants should be British citizens enrolled on a Master’s or PhD programme at a recognised UK Higher Education Institution. The fieldwork or other research activity for which support is sought may relate to any historical period up to and including contemporary Turkey.

 

Application process

It is essential that applicants read the notes and the accompanying conditions of awards before completing the application form.  Applicants in any doubt about their eligibility or any other aspect of their application are advised to contact the British Institute at Ankara (BIAA), where staff will be pleased to assist.

The deadline for receipt of applications and references is 17 April 2022. The BIAA Research Committee will consider all applications received before this date.

Projects must be undertaken before 31 March 2023
