In response to the destructive impact of the 6 February earthquakes that struck south-eastern Turkey, the British Institute at Ankara is providing up to five emergency research facilitation grants to support scholars at affected universities. The one-off grant of 2,000 GBP is intended to help scholars to temporarily relocate to Ankara and resume their research at this difficult time. Recipients will have access to BIAA facilities including the David H. French Library, BIAA collections, and office space up until 31 August. A limited number of single-occupancy rooms are available at the Institute guesthouse over the same period, please indicate in your application if you are in need of accommodation.
Applicants must be carrying out research at the post-doctoral level or above in any area of the Humanities or Social Sciences that aligns with one of the BIAA Strategic Research Initiatives, and have a current affiliation to one of the below universities:
