Research Summary

Transforming Access to Mediterranean Cultural Heritage Science Collections aims to create digital infrastructure for heritage science collection and to foster interdisciplinary research and public engagement for cultural heritage sector, especially for the Mediterranean Region. The British International Research Institutes (BIRI) are working together in order to build a synergy and shared platform for digital archives. The last 3 years with BIRI Digital Coordination and Strategy Project allowed experts from 8 BIRI’s to share knowledge and shared expertise for digitisation and documentation of digital activities.

The British School at Athens (BSA), British Institute at Ankara (BIAA), British School at Rome (BSR) are partners of this project, which is led by Prof Mark Jackson (Newcastle University) and funded by the AHRC Programme, Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (RICHES).
