Lara Gonzalez Carretero ​​is currently undertaking her PhD at University College London on the analysis of food remains from the UNESCO site of Çatalhöyük in Central Turkey. She received a 2k BIAA study grant on 2013 to carry out fieldwork and archaeobotanical research into the origins of cereal foods and their consumption during the Neolithic period in Anatolia. During these time, amorphous food remains and food crusts from ceramic vessels were collected from Çatalhöyük for further analysis of their ingredients and preparation.
