The Nahrein Network Visiting Scholarships Scheme re-opens for applications

The BIAA is supporting the Nahrein Network Visiting Scholarships Scheme, which has now re-opened for applications. This scheme is an opportunity for academics, cultural heritage professionals and NGO workers from Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran to conduct research in the UK for 1-2 months. 

The scholarship includes all travel expenses, institutional fees, housing, living costs and research costs.

Applicants must identify a host institution in the UK and provide an outline of a proposed research project which addresses one of the Nahrein Network’s aims. 

The programme is jointly managed by the Nahrein Network, the BIAA, the Iran Heritage Foundation (IHF), the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL), and the British Institute for the Study of Iraq (BISI).

The Nahrein Network supports and facilitates research in the areas of sustainable development of antiquity, cultural heritage and the humanities in the Middle East, and is supported by an AHRC Global Challenges Research Fund grant.

The deadline for this round of applications is Friday 15thFebruary 2019
