The BIAA at the British Academy Summer Showcase

The BIAA is delighted to announce that our cultural heritage management work has been selected as one of fifteen research projects to be exhibited at the British Academy’s Summer Showcase event in central London.

BIAA Director Dr Lutgarde Vandeput and her Co-Investigator on the 'Living Amid the Ruins' Project Dr Işılay Gürsu will present ‘What is the relationship between archaeology and the public?’.

Focusing on the ancient Pisidia region of southwest Turkey, this exhibit will allow visitors to bring the splendour of ancient remains back to life using VR headsets and watch short films introducing the community’s plans for the area.

Taking place from 21st – 22nd June at the British Academy’s historic central London home, the Summer Showcase aims to demystify university study and make the case for the importance of humanities and social sciences subjects for all.

A full list of all 15 exhibiting projects, along with details of pop-up talks and performances as well as information for visitors can be found on the British Academy’s website.
