Summary

The Institute welcomes applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship relating to research that fits within one of its Strategic Research Initiatives.

The Fellowship will be tenable for 12 months from September 2024. The Fellow will be based at the Institute in Ankara and will be required to spend at least two-thirds of the period of their Fellowship at the Institute. The remaining one-third can be spent outside Ankara for research purposes, in consultation with the Institute’s Director.

Eligibility

Applicants must have either been awarded a PhD by a UK Higher Education Institution within the last two years or have completed their viva examination before the Fellowship start date. We also invite applications from people who have an active link with a UK Higher Education Institution who were granted their PhD up to 10 years before the time of their application. Applicants for a BIAA Postdoctoral Fellowship may be holders of a PhD in any academic discipline within the arts, humanities and social sciences.

Applicants should complete the application form below and send it to biaa@thebritishacademy.ac.uk by 30 April 2024.

Applications should be supported by two references, which need to be provided on the headed paper of the referee’s home institution or within an email which indicates the position and institution of the referee. Note that applicants are responsible for ensuring that their referees submit their references directly to biaa@thebritishacademy.ac.uk by the closing date of 30 April 2024.
