Independent Scholar

Zühre Emanet holds a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK. She has previously worked as a primary school English teacher. 'The Politics of Education in Turkey' is her first book.

Ceren Lord

University of Oxford

Ceren Lord is currently a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Relations. She completed her PhD in 2015 at the London School of Economics, Government Department. She has previously published on religious politics, secularism, nationalism, minorities and Turkey, and is currently working on a manuscript on the relationship between conflict and identity. Alongside her academic career, Ceren previously worked in finance as an economist focusing on Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She is Associate Editor at the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies and the lead editor for the British Institute at Ankara (BIAA) Contemporary Turkey series published by I.B. Tauris/Bloomsbury.
