Ilgın Deniz Can holds a PhD in Botany from Hacettepe University. Her work focuses on plant systematics, taxonomy and species delimitation. Since 2021, she has been involved in various projects working with the botanical collections of the BIAA, contributing to the physical and digital archiving and long-term preservation of botanical collections. She is particularly interested in organising botanical collections in ways that support both research and accessibility. Her academic and professional work combines plant taxonomy with collection-based botanical research, especially on Anatolian plant diversity.
