Support is intended for postdoctoral researchers to carry out periods of study abroad in the fields of the arts, humanities and the social sciences. Projects should be related to and/or undertaken in Türkiye and the Black Sea region, and should fit within one of the Strategic Research Initiatives currently sponsored by the Institute.
Please note that BIAA has streamlined its grant giving processes and there will only be one call per financial year. If you would like to apply for BIAA grant funding in 2024/25, please respond to this call. Applicants are also advised to carefully review the Notes to Applicants as these have recently changed.
Researchers across the entire career spectrum (from postdoctoral fellows to senior academics) of any nationality working in the UK or abroad for a UK Higher Education Institution or UK based research organisation, are eligible to apply for a BIAA Study Grant. Projects should be located within the field of the arts, humanities and the social sciences, and should be related to and/or undertaken in Türkiye and the Black Sea region.

The deadline for receipt of the application form, budget and reference is Sunday 29th October 2023 at 23:59 (UK time). The BIAA Research Committee will not consider any applications received after this date. Research funded by the Institute under this award scheme must be undertaken in the period between April 2024 and March 2025.
