Summary: Employing ethnographic methods this research investigates Syrians migrants/refugees’ waiting practices both discursive and embodied, their organization of time, and their labour in Istanbul. It explores the intersection of Turkey’s position as a European Union candidate country, its geographical location as a frontier to European space, and the violence in Syria.
